  IEEE 1394

IEEE 1394 Is generally known as firewire, is a similar Plug-and-Play predecessor to USB. The original intention was to replace various ports on the computers to one universal one, and especially a reliable bus for multimedia. The firewire interface is implemented with three layers, Transaction, Link, and Physical layer (PHY). They Transaction layer simply responses to data receiving with only read, write, and lock command. The link layer then acknowledges the transaction layer.

The link layer then acknowledges the transaction layer about data/packet transmission and reception. Both asynchronous or isochronous data transfer modes. Finally, the Physical layer assures that data is sent one node at a time by providing the electrical and mechanical connection
