Universal Serial Bus

Up to 127 devices can connect to the host.
USB 1.0 has maximum data rate of 12Mbs, while USB 2.0 has maximum data rate of 480 Mbs
USB 2.0 is fully compatible with USB 1 devices w/ data rate of 1.5 & 12 Mbs
The host computer can provide up to 500 mA/5v maximum power supply to external devices.
Made up of two wires for power (5v & ground) and a twisted pair for data transfer.
Hot swappable (i.e device can be detached without turning off the host’s power). |

USB OTG
USB on the go is USB connection w/out the use of a PC as a host. Typical applications as seen today would be connecting cameras directly to printers to print photos, connecting PDA to a cellular phone for internet access.
USB 2.0 PHY
PHY technology results in low power dissipation, enabling high-speed peripherals to operate from
power available by way of the USB cable. It supports 480 Mbps transfer rate, while remaining backward
compatible with USB 1.1 legacy protocol at 12 Mbps. The USB3250 interfaces to the functional
controller via the USB Transceiver Macrocell Interface (UTMI), an interface standard developed for
USB2.0.
